Addiction comes in many forms. Some addictions that are clearly detrimental to one’s health are often listed as illegal. However, there are some addictions that are legal, but still lethal. For example, people who are chocolate addicts are neither recognized as concern, and worse, no one even bothers to support the fight against such addiction. This article hopes to change this general attitude of ignorance by providing some inputs on how to the person who is addicted with chocolate end the urge.

First, just accept and understand yourself for being addicted to chocolates. As it has been said that everything that is happening in our life has a reason, so being addicted to chocolate has a reason then. Accept what you are now but remember this moment while you are trying yourself to transform yourself to be who you want to be.

Second, you have to recognize that this is a problem which has to be stopped, not tomorrow, but today. Let yourself envision a brighter tomorrow if you let go of the shame that urges you to run for more chocolates. Embrace the brighter future and let your urge now be for your bright future.

Do some recollections. Think of something like: when you started to extraordinarily eat chocolate, where it started and what cause you to like chocolates too much.

Is it because of a broken heart? Perhaps stress or loneliness? A childhood fear? Try to sort out your feelings and jot these down in a notebook.

There might be probable reasons that triggered your addiction to chocolates. Try to think of them and jot them down and in this way you will feel better.

Spend more time analyzing by including the feelings you had during and after eating chocolates. Just the same, take down notes. For this to work, you need to set milestones and work toward achieving from one milestone to the other until you reach the end. A milestone refers to identifying why this bad habit is caused or created, and recommending course of action in addressing the cause.

During this time, it’s important to record all types of feelings – the positive, negative, and the neutral. You might be surprised with the pattern that emerges.
